The ATEX 94/9/EC directive has been replaced by the ATEX 2014/34/EU directive which came into force on April 20^th 2016 without transitional period.

MAIN INNOVATIONS

• The EC declaration of conformity becomes an EU declaration of conformity.

• The EC type-examination certificate becomes an EU type-examination certificate.

• Importers shall indicate on the product their name and their postal address (or on the packaging if not possible).

• The EC marking.
• The scope of application and the essential health and safety requirements.
• The conformity assessment procedures.
• The group and apparatus category classifications and the “ATEX” marking.
